BUILDING AND DEVELOPING DEMOCRACY, GOVERNMENTAL, AND CONSTIOTUTIONAL SYSTEM BASED ON THE RELIGIOUS, TRADITIONS AND CULTURAL VALUES IN INDONESIA

THE SOLIDARITY, TOLERANCE, COALESCENCE, UNITY, CONFLICT AVOIDANCE AND INTERVENE AVOIDANCE IN DOMESTIC AFFAIRS VALUES IN CREATING DEMOCRACY AND GOVERNMENT
IN INDONESIA
Local traditions and cultures, indeed, have huge values urging to achieve solidarity, tolerance, coalescence, unity, conflict avoidance and intervene avoidance in domestic affairs values in creating democracy and government may be in the similar or different formulation. As a member of Sasak ethnic, born, grew, and to be adult in Lombok, of course, in contrary to the knowing to the tradition and culture of the other regions, I more understand the values of the Sasak (Lombok) tradition and culture.
Those values may be drown from idiom stating taht “bagus lenge te besemeton tetep te saling sedok”, means that what is the condition of our brothers, bad (evil) or good, they are remain our brother. This do not meant that we must advocate our brothers blindly, but the advocacy giving to them is by educating, and improving their behavior so as to they can change their behavior to be better. Indeed, it is an indignity, not respectable, not honorable for the community if anyone for his failing to educate his family ignore him, or let the other persons punish him for his fault to them. Local wise teaches us, if our child or family err, or if a person from a kampong or village do fault in the other kampong or village, it is better, wiser if this person to be delivered to his family, kampong, or village so as to be educated or punish by them. This action may muffle the offensiveness inter families, inter kampongs, and inter villages that often create controversies, dispute even attack one other.
That idiom create mutual protection, maintain the integrated and unity of family, kampong and village communities, tolerant, the controversies or dispute avoidance with the others. This values is often turned down by the parents to their children, usually after completing isya prayer and lunch when they assemble by advising their families as follows: “if controversies, dispute take place between the family members do not hear the spoon tinkling, or the broken plate”. This meant that the dispute, the controversies in the family do not know by the other people, moreover, if these spread to the larger community”. This will embarrass these family itself, in accordance with the remind of our sncestor through proverb stating that “menepuk air di dulang terpercik muka sendiri”.
The solidarity, tolerance, coalescence, unity, conflict avoidance and intervene avoidance values not only apply to circle of families, kampongs or villages but also can be broadened in the nation and state circles.
